Mission
The Municipal Alliance Committee
(MAC) is a group of volunteers dedicated to the prevention of drug and alcohol
abuse in our community. While MAC develops education and prevention programs
that reach out to people of all ages, a primary focus of the Upper Township MAC
is the prevention of drug and alcohol use by our youth.
MAC sponsors education programs such as the 5th Grade Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs and Inhalants Prevention Program, the “Say No Way” assembly for Elementary School youth, the Peer to Peer program for Middle School youth, and the 15 Minute Child Break educational program for parents. In recognition of research that shows that positive family interaction is a proven deterrent to drug and alcohol use, MAC also sponsors fun social and recreational events such as Family Skate Nights and Hooked On Fishing Trips for youth and their families. MAC also gives financial support to many youth dances, the After Prom Party, ski trips and skate parties sponsored by the Upper Township P.T.A. and local churches. A drug and alcohol abuse prevention message is paired with fun, drug and alcohol free activities to promote healthy lifestyles for all Upper Township kids.
