Affordable Rental Apartments

The Township of Upper hereby announces that 2 affordable housing units will be available for rent throughout Upper Township. The housing is available for low- and moderate-income households.  The following units are available:  one new 2-bedroom apartment located at 94 Rt-50, Seaville and one new 2-bedroom apartment located at 13 Roberts Avenue, Marmora

The affordable housing available includes rents from $364 to $729/month.  Utilities are not included.  Interested households will be required to submit an application and income documentation, and pass a credit check in order to qualify.  The maximum household incomes permitted are $36,284 for a one person household, $41,468 for a two person household, $51,834 for a three person household, and $53,908 for a four person household. Once certified, households will be matched to affordable units through a lottery system.  All successful applicants will be required to demonstrate the ability to pay a security deposit (one and one half months rent) and first month’s rent and agree to maintain the units as the family’s primary residence.

Applications are available at the Cape May County Main Library, Upper Township Municipal Building, Atlantic County Administration Building, Salem County Administration Building and Cumberland County Library.  Applications can also be requested via mail or email by calling Upper Township at (609) 628-2011 ext. 244.  Applications will be accepted until May 30, 2008 and there is a $20 fee for the credit check.
