MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING

OF THE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2010, 8:30 A.M.

AT THE

UPPER TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL BUILDING

2100 TUCKAHOE ROAD

PETERSBURG, NJ

A special meeting of the Township Committee was held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. at the Township Hall, 2100 Tuckahoe Road, Petersburg, NJ, for the purpose of consideration on the following matter:

Country Shore Women’s Club--request for approval on amendment to Games of Chance application to reschedule their event to Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 in accordance with the regulations of the State of New Jersey; (Bingo #360, and Raffle #361).   

The meeting was advertised in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act and the Mayor read the statement into the record.

Also present were Municipal Clerk Wanda Gaglione and Municipal Engineer Paul Dietrich.

Mayor Palombo explained that municipal approval of the amendment to the raffle and bingo licenses for Country Shore Women’s Club is necessary because the event, originally scheduled for February 6, 2010, was cancelled due to the huge snowstorm that occurred on that date. 

State rules for Games of Chance specify that if the event cannot be held within seven days of the original date then an approved amendment to the application must be filed with the State.

Motion was made by Jay Newman, second by Frank Conrad to approve the amendment to allow the event to take place on February 20, 2010.  During roll call vote all four Committee members present voted in the affirmative.

There was no further business to conduct at this meeting and motion was made by Jay Newman, second by Frank Conrad to adjourn the meeting at 8:38 A.M.  During the roll call vote all four Committee members voted in the affirmative.

Next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday February 23, 2010;  Budget Workshop at 6:30 PM, Regular Meeting at 7:30 PM.
